Driving forward the transformation of Oxford Street

Oxford Street is the nation’s high street – one of the world’s most recognisable destinations and a major driver of London’s economy. Its significance goes beyond retail alone. Oxford Street is part of London’s identity – a place of culture, commerce, tourism and everyday city life, used and experienced by over 120 million people each year.

Like many city centres, Oxford Street has faced significant challenges in recent years. The pandemic, changing consumer habits and increased global competition have all accelerated the need for renewal and reinvention.

The Oxford Street Development Corporation was created to provide the focused leadership, long-term stewardship and delivery capacity needed to realise that transformation. Our ambition is clear: to create a world-class destination that is commercially successful, environmentally sustainable and welcoming to everyone – a place that works for Londoners, businesses and visitors alike.

To help us deliver that ambition, I am looking for an exceptional Director of Finance and Corporate Services. This is a rare opportunity to help build a new public body from the ground up and to shape the foundations of one of the highest-profile regeneration programmes in the world.

I am looking for someone who combines strategic judgement with pragmatism; someone who can operate confidently in a complex and politically sensitive environment while helping to build a modern, high-performing and inclusive organisation. Alongside leadership of finance and corporate services, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting organisational growth, strengthening governance and ensuring we are equipped to deliver at pace and with confidence.
